Raj Thackeray’s Maharashtra Navnirman Sena and its supporters on 4th February, 2008 continued to carry out sporadic attacks on migrants on Mumbai’s streets after Thackeray’s allegations against ‘Chhat Puja’ and ‘North Indians’.
The CPI(M) said the attacks on north Indians was the result of propaganda and statements directed against Hindi-speaking people living in Mumbai by a parochial political outfit.
With Raj Thackeray’s outburst against north Indians and violence by his supporters in Mumbai snowballing into a major political controversy. Congress said, “Take action against Raj Thackeray.” But Congress government in Maharashtra did not take such measures against violence. Maharashtra chief minister Vilasrao Deshmukh said that 75 held, full protection to outsiders in Mumbai. Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar demanded stern action against Raj Thackeray. Raj Thackeray-led Maharashtra Navanirman Sena attacking the superstar Amitabh Bachhan for alleged negligence of Maharashtra. UP chief minister Mayawati said, Raj making a mockery of Constitution as govt watches silently.
Some political parties have no good policy for people. They are befooling people, divide and rule what BJP and Congress have been implementing for last 60 years. The followers and goons of mistaken leaders must be rejected by people.
